SEASON 2025

WEEK 9

Week HighAdil142.6
Week LowZaid97.7
THE WEEKLY REPORT: we watched every lineup. Some of you should be in prison.

Omar A. annihilated Zaid by 42.4, a score differential normally reserved for scrimmages against air. Adil hung 142.6 on Tarick and never looked back, winning by 41.9 in the week's designated execution. Aziz took care of Ahmad, 138.4-123.4, workmanlike and forgettable. Karim beat Omar H. 115.8-106.8, and the less said about the loser's flex spot, the kinder. Okashah outscored Yousef 117.4-109.8, a sentence that fully captures the excitement level. Mustafa edged Issa by 3.3 in a game decided by pocket change and prayer.

Adil's 142.6 led the league this week, and yes, we all have to hear about it. Zaid brought up the rear with 97.7, a number you can achieve by autodrafting and losing your phone.

In the season race: Omar A. still leads the league in scoring, while Issa continues auditioning for the punishment.

THIS WEEK IN LEAGUE HISTORY: 2023's Week 9 gave us Mustafa 154.7, Karim 135.8 — remembered fondly by exactly one of them. This week in 2024: Yousef handled Ahmad, 164.0-146.6. History remembers the winners. Barely.

Same time next week, unless the commissioner finally has this booth silenced.

The scoreboard is warming up and so is my disappointment. Adil sits at 5-3, Tarick at 6-2, and the only real separation between them is whose kicker shows up. Let's see whose projections were lies.

Postgame · The Booth

142.6-100.7. A 41.9-point margin. Somewhere a mercy rule is filing a grievance about not being invoked. Adil's 142.6 was the top score in the league this week. Enjoy it. Peaks like this are usually followed by cliffs. 6-3. Adil played the odds and, for once, the odds played along. Tarick drops to 6-3 and is officially in 'blame the projections' territory.

Issa

Mustafa
(Forbes 30 Under 5'5)
Pregame · The Booth

Somewhere, a bye week goes unnoticed. But not by me. Never by me. The spread on this one is roughly Mustafa's ego, which is to say: enormous. 4-4 against 2-6 doesn't lie. Mustafa has lost 3 in a row and started describing it as 'a process.' The process is losing. Whatever happens, remember: the booth predicted it, retroactively, with confidence.

Postgame · The Booth

Forbes 30 Under 5'5 escapes 121.3-118.0. Issa lost by 3.3 points and will now spend the entire week doing lineup autopsy. As they should. Mustafa is 5-4 now. The booth has updated his file from 'concerning' to 'under review.' Issa sits at 2-7 and has begun using the phrase 'points against' unprompted. A cry for help.

Karim
(Band$ Emeka Dance)
115.8@106.8
Omar H.
(Follicle Failure)
Pregame · The Booth

Two game plans walk in. Statistically, at least one of them is a coin with feelings. Two teams, 3-5 and 4-4, separated by nothing but vibes and pending regret. Somebody tell the benches to stay warm. They usually outscore the starters around here.

Postgame · The Booth

FINAL: 115.8-106.8. Karim was better. Not by a story, just by a score. Karim improves to 5-4. Credit where due, and I do mean the bare minimum of credit. Now 3-6, Omar H. enters the part of the season where 'mathematically alive' does a lot of heavy lifting.

Aziz
(Fourth and Bald)
138.4@123.4
Ahmad
(Juicy Lucy)
Pregame · The Booth

You wanted analysis. I brought a scalpel. Ahmad at 4-4 against Aziz at 4-4. The analytics call it even. The analytics have not met these men. Let the games begin. Let the group chat suffer.

Postgame · The Booth

It ends 138.4-123.4. No drama, no controversy, just Ahmad quietly updating his excuses spreadsheet. Aziz moves to 5-4. A real analyst would call that momentum. I'll call it a stay of execution. Ahmad drops to 4-5, and somewhere his bench players are demanding a trade to the starting lineup.

Okashah
(Mohammad's Dolphins Team)
117.4@109.8
Yousef
(Drake and Josh)
Pregame · The Booth

Two managers enter. One leaves pretending they 'didn't even check their lineup.' Drake and Josh at 5-3 should handle this. Of course, 'should' is the most dangerous word in this league, usually spoken right before Okashah ruins someone's weekend. Buckle up. The projections have chosen violence.

Postgame · The Booth

A tidy 117.4-109.8 win for Mohammad's Dolphins Team. The film session will be short. Yousef's will not. A genuine shocker: Mohammad's Dolphins Team at 3-5 takes down Drake and Josh at 5-3. The league's natural order has filed a complaint. Okashah climbs to 4-5, and for one week, the film room has nothing bad to say. Enjoy the silence. That's 5-4 for Yousef, whose season is now best described as 'a rebuilding year for morale.'

Omar A.
(MARLBURROW REDS)
140.1@97.7
Zaid
(Milk Nabers)
Pregame · The Booth

The stakes: pride, standings, and the right to be smug in a group chat. MARLBURROW REDS has been humming along at 5-3. Milk Nabers is sitting at 3-5 and calling it a rebuilding year. In a redraft league. Think about that. Kickoff's coming. Set your lineups, say your prayers.

Postgame · The Booth

It ends 140.1-97.7. The booth has watched a lot of football. This was adjacent to some of it. Zaid scored 97.7, the lowest in the league, a number that will follow him into at least three future write-ups. Starting now. Winner winner: Omar A. at 6-3. The trajectory is real. So is the schedule. We'll see. Zaid slides to 3-6. The schedule ahead offers no apologies and neither does the booth.
