Adil sends MALIK NABERS and DeVonta Smith to Aziz for Travis Etienne and Marvin Harrison Jr. in Week 2. Aziz took that Nabers, rode him to the CHAMPIONSHIP, and sent Adil a thank-you card made of confetti. The two-time defending champ financing the new king's coronation. Shakespeare couldn't write it meaner.
Aziz keeps cooking: Chase Brown and Courtland Sutton in, Zay Flowers and the freshly-acquired Etienne out. The eventual champion making calm, boring, correct decisions. The tape respects boring.
Adil consolidates: CeeDee Lamb for the Judkins-Olave bundle. After the Nabers catastrophe, the champ remembered how to negotiate. Zaid collected more names for the collection. The collection went 5-9.
Yousef grabs Chris Olave for the stretch run; Zaid banks Drake Maye and Tyjae Spears for a future that, historically speaking, never arrives. Yousef buying at the deadline every single year and still not winning a title is this league's most reliable tradition.
Issa rents Trey McBride, the best fantasy tight end alive, for Alec Pierce and Matthew Stafford. Week 14 desperation from both parties. One of them was at least desperate for the right position.
Zaid flips Mike Evans and Braelon Allen for a three-piece: Hubbard, Higgins, and Jerome Ford. Quantity over quality is a strategy, technically. Hubbard turned into a league-winner. Zaid's team turned into a 5-9 team anyway, because talent acquisition and talent deployment are two very different careers.
Karim lands Zay Flowers and that same Chuba Hubbard from Zaid, giving up Jordan Addison and an already-cooked J.K. Dobbins. Zaid held Hubbard for exactly three weeks before shipping the best asset in the deal. This is called 'day trading', and the house always wins.
Zaid ships Jordan Addison to Adil for Jaylen Warren. A backup running back for a starting wideout on a top-five offense. Adil, already champion-in-waiting, says thank you and hangs up the phone.
Mustafa gives up Kareem Hunt, then TOUCHDOWN-MACHINE-mode Kareem Hunt, to acquire Jayden Reed and Najee Harris. Two names, less production. This is what we call paying for the label, not the wine.
Zaid recycles J.K. Dobbins to Yousef for Josh Downs and Javonte Williams. Dobbins was actually productive that year, which means Yousef read the market and Zaid read the vibes.
Jameson Williams for Amari Cooper, youth for pedigree. Jamo's speed aged well. Cooper's Buffalo cameo did not. Credit where due: Zaid occasionally hits one.
Week 14, playoff push: Adil buys Tee Higgins; Zaid takes back Deebo Samuel AND Isaac Guerendo. Guerendo then started playoff games for San Francisco. Of course, Zaid was 5-9, so this masterstroke decorated a sinking ship. Adil won the title anyway. Everybody got what they wanted, which is how you know somebody got robbed.
Adil sends Brandin Cooks to Omar Ali for Stefon Diggs in Week 11. A star for a role player. Somewhere, a trade committee should have been convened.
And then... they traded them RIGHT BACK. Same week. Diggs returns to Omar Ali, Cooks returns to Adil. Ladies and gentlemen, the only trade in league history to be undone faster than a bad haircut. I've reviewed the tape and I still don't know what happened here. Neither do they.
