SEASON 2025

WEEK 8

Week HighAziz162.9
Week LowZaid76.8
THE WEEKLY REPORT: the numbers are in and several of them are embarrassing.

Aziz hung 162.9 on Mustafa and never looked back, winning by 53.2 in the week's designated execution. Okashah annihilated Zaid by 39.5, a score differential normally reserved for scrimmages against air. Yousef got past Karim, 124.2-94.7, in a game the tape will file under 'fine, whatever'. Omar H. beat Adil 124.8-105.9, and the less said about the loser's flex spot, the kinder. Issa dispatched Ahmad 100.3-89.4 with the ruthless efficiency of a man deleting spam. Omar A. edged Tarick by 3.6 in a game decided by pocket change and prayer.

Aziz dropped a league-best 162.9, which buys exactly one week of trash talk credit. And at the bottom, Zaid posted 76.8. The bye weeks were visible from space and the lineup stayed put.

Championship watch: Omar A. keeps stacking points. Sacko watch: Issa. No further questions.

THIS WEEK IN LEAGUE HISTORY: In 2023, Yousef dropped 162.1 on Omar A. in this same week — a public execution the league still references. Week 8 of 2024: Adel beat Okashah by 75.1, a beating the tape still uses as training material.

That's the report. Complaints can be filed directly into the group chat where they belong.

Karim
(Band$ Emeka Dance)
94.7@124.2
Yousef
(Drake and Josh)
Pregame · The Booth

The stakes: pride, standings, and the right to be smug in a group chat. Dead heat on the standings page: Drake and Josh 4-3, Band$ Emeka Dance 4-3. Somebody's about to learn which .500 team was lying. Winners of 4 straight, Band$ Emeka Dance enters with the swagger of a team that hasn't checked how it happened. The tape rolls at kickoff. The excuses roll shortly after.

Postgame · The Booth

A tidy 124.2-94.7 win for Drake and Josh. The film session will be short. Karim's will not. Yousef climbs to 5-3, and for one week, the film room has nothing bad to say. Enjoy the silence. 4-4. The booth isn't saying it's over for Karim. The booth is simply reading numbers aloud, menacingly.

Aziz
(Fourth and Bald)
162.9@109.7
Mustafa
(Forbes 30 Under 5'5)
Pregame · The Booth

The film doesn't lie, and unfortunately for one of these teams, I've watched it. Records: 4-3 and 3-4. Identical enough that both fanbases — populations of one — are equally nervous. Sunday will sort this out the way it sorts everything: rudely.

Postgame · The Booth

It ends 162.9-109.7. The booth has watched a lot of football. This was adjacent to some of it. Aziz's 162.9 was the top score in the league this week. Enjoy it. Peaks like this are usually followed by cliffs. Aziz improves to 4-4. Credit where due, and I do mean the bare minimum of credit. Mustafa falls to 4-4. The good news: it can't get worse. The bad news: I said that last week too.

Issa
(Shamjesus)
100.3@89.4
Ahmad
(Juicy Lucy)
Pregame · The Booth

The scoreboard is warming up and so is my disappointment. Juicy Lucy at 4-3 should handle this. Of course, 'should' is the most dangerous word in this league, usually spoken right before Issa ruins someone's weekend. Issa has dropped 4 in a row, a stretch of football so bleak the league office considered a wellness check. Somebody tell the benches to stay warm. They usually outscore the starters around here.

Postgame · The Booth

FINAL: 100.3 to 89.4. Issa did what good teams do; Ahmad did what Ahmad does. Upset alert delivered. Shamjesus (1-6) just clipped Juicy Lucy (4-3), and I want you to know Ahmad absolutely saw this coming and started the wrong guys anyway. The two teams combined for 189.7, a number so small it qualifies for legal protection. That's 2-6 for Issa. Say what you want about the man — the booth certainly will — but the wins are real. Ahmad drops to 4-4, and somewhere his bench players are demanding a trade to the starting lineup.

Zaid
(Milk Nabers)
76.8@116.3
Okashah
(Mohammad's Dolphins Team)
Pregame · The Booth

The booth has reviewed both rosters and would like to speak to a manager. Either one. On paper this is a coin flip: Mohammad's Dolphins Team at 2-5, Milk Nabers at 3-4. On tape, it's two teams praying the other starts the wrong flex. The booth's official forecast: chaos, with a chance of somebody blaming their kicker.

Postgame · The Booth

Mohammad's Dolphins Team handles business, 116.3-76.8. Zaid will tell you it was closer than the score. The score disagrees, and the score was there. Combined 193.1. This game should be buried at sea, unmarked. Zaid's 76.8 was the lowest score in the league this week. The LOWEST. Out of twelve teams. I need everyone to sit with that. Okashah improves to 3-5 and has earned exactly one week of walking slightly taller. Use it wisely. That's 3-5 for Zaid, whose season is now best described as 'a rebuilding year for morale.'

Omar A.
(MARLBURROW REDS)
156.1@152.5
Tarick
(Shia Killer)
Pregame · The Booth

Somewhere, a bye week goes unnoticed. But not by me. Never by me. Bookmakers would call Shia Killer (6-1) a heavy favorite over MARLBURROW REDS (4-3). This league would call that an invitation for chaos. Tarick is on a 4-game run and has begun using the word 'dynasty' in casual conversation. The booth is monitoring the situation. The clock is the only neutral party here. Enjoy the show.

Postgame · The Booth

Omar A. wins by 3.6. In this league we call that a 'moral coin flip,' and Tarick called tails. Omar A. (4-3) beats Tarick (6-1), proving once again that in this league, pedigree is a rumor. 308.6 total points. The scoreboard needed a water break. Winner winner: Omar A. at 5-3. The trajectory is real. So is the schedule. We'll see. Tarick is now 6-2, and the tape suggests that's generous.

Omar H.
(Follicle Failure)
124.8@105.9
Adil
(Talkin Tua Teenager)
Pregame · The Booth

Two game plans walk in. Statistically, at least one of them is a coin with feelings. Adil brings a 5-2 record. Omar H. brings 2-5 and a dream. The booth has seen the dream's film. The dream should be benched. Buckle up. The projections have chosen violence.

Postgame · The Booth

Follicle Failure over Talkin Tua Teenager, 124.8-105.9. The box score reads like a shrug, and the booth respects an honest shrug. And that, friends, is an upset. Omar H. came in at 2-5, looked across at Adil's 5-2 juggernaut, and simply did not care. Beautiful, chaotic, disrespectful football. Omar H. banks it and sits at 3-5. Somewhere a projection model feels validated. Briefly. 5-3 for Adil. Every loss has a lesson; this one's lesson was 'stop doing that.'
