SEASON 2025

WEEK 5

Week HighTarick175.0
Week LowOkashah86.0
THE WEEKLY REPORT: your weekly reminder that projections are astrology for men.

Tarick hung 175.0 on Yousef and never looked back, winning by 59.3 in the week's designated execution. Aziz annihilated Okashah by 36.7, a score differential normally reserved for scrimmages against air. Omar H. dispatched Zaid 135.4-101.0 with the ruthless efficiency of a man deleting spam. Karim took care of Issa, 115.2-102.6, workmanlike and forgettable. Mustafa handled Omar A., 126.5-119.2, in a game with all the drama of a scheduled oil change. Adil escaped Ahmad by 5.0 points, the fantasy equivalent of a field goal as time expires.

Tarick dropped a league-best 175.0, which buys exactly one week of trash talk credit. Okashah brought up the rear with 86.0, a number you can achieve by autodrafting and losing your phone.

Waiver report: Karim whiffed on 13 claims. The early bird got the worm; Karim got the confirmation email of failure.

Big picture: Yousef remains the points leader, and Issa is pacing the field in the race nobody wants to win.

THIS WEEK IN LEAGUE HISTORY: Week 5 of 2023: Adil beat Yousef by 69.8, a beating the tape still uses as training material. In 2024, Ahmad dropped 182.8 on Tarick in this same week — a public execution the league still references.

The tape never lies, gentlemen. See you next week.

Mustafa
(Forbes 30 Under 5'5)
126.5@119.2
Omar A.
(MARLBURROW REDS)
Pregame · The Booth

The stakes: pride, standings, and the right to be smug in a group chat. Omar A. at 3-1 against Mustafa at 3-1. The analytics call it even. The analytics have not met these men. Omar A. has won 3 straight, and has started walking around like they invented zone-read analytics. See you at the final whistle, where one of these paragraphs becomes prophecy.

Postgame · The Booth

Mustafa banks the W, 126.5-119.2, and moves on with his life. Omar A. is advised to attempt the same. Mustafa improves to 4-1. Credit where due, and I do mean the bare minimum of credit. Omar A. is now 3-2, and the tape suggests that's generous.

Okashah
(Mohammad's Dolphins Team)
86.0@122.7
Aziz
(Fourth and Bald)
Pregame · The Booth

Another week, another chance for these two to embarrass their draft boards. Records: 2-2 and 1-3. Identical enough that both fanbases — populations of one — are equally nervous. Losers of 3 straight, Mohammad's Dolphins Team is one more bad Sunday from the booth calling it a lifestyle. The tape rolls at kickoff. The excuses roll shortly after.

Postgame · The Booth

It ends 122.7-86.0. No drama, no controversy, just Okashah quietly updating his excuses spreadsheet. Okashah's 86.0 was the lowest score in the league this week. The LOWEST. Out of twelve teams. I need everyone to sit with that. 3-2. Aziz played the odds and, for once, the odds played along. Okashah sits at 1-4 and has begun using the phrase 'points against' unprompted. A cry for help.

Yousef
(Drake and Josh)
115.7@175.0
Tarick
(Shia Killer)
Pregame · The Booth

Somewhere, a bye week goes unnoticed. But not by me. Never by me. Dead heat on the standings page: Shia Killer 3-1, Drake and Josh 3-1. Somebody's about to learn which .500 team was lying. Kickoff's coming. Set your lineups, say your prayers.

Postgame · The Booth

Shia Killer by 59.3. The tape will be studied by historians, comedians, and Yousef's therapist. Combined 290.7. If you blinked, you missed forty points and at least one act of villainy. Tarick's 175.0 was the top score in the league this week. Enjoy it. Peaks like this are usually followed by cliffs. Winner winner: Tarick at 4-1. The trajectory is real. So is the schedule. We'll see. Yousef slides to 3-2. The schedule ahead offers no apologies and neither does the booth.

Karim
(Band$ Emeka Dance)
115.2@102.6
Issa
(Shamjesus)
Pregame · The Booth

Good evening from the booth, where hope comes to be audited. Shamjesus (1-3) versus Band$ Emeka Dance (1-3). Vegas calls this a pick'em. I call it mutually assured mediocrity. On to the action, where the points are made up and the projections don't matter.

Postgame · The Booth

FINAL: 115.2 to 102.6. Karim did what good teams do; Issa did what Issa does. Karim is 2-3 now. The booth has updated his file from 'concerning' to 'under review.' 1-4 for Issa. Every loss has a lesson; this one's lesson was 'stop doing that.'

Adil
(Talkin Tua Teenager)
113.9@108.9
Ahmad
(Juicy Lucy)
Pregame · The Booth

Every week I say it can't get dumber. Every week this league accepts the challenge. Two teams, 3-1 and 3-1, separated by nothing but vibes and pending regret. The booth's official forecast: chaos, with a chance of somebody blaming their kicker.

Postgame · The Booth

Adil wins by 5.0. In this league we call that a 'moral coin flip,' and Ahmad called tails. 4-1 for Adil, who gets to spend a full week believing his own process. Dangerous stuff. Now 3-2, Ahmad enters the part of the season where 'mathematically alive' does a lot of heavy lifting.

Zaid
(Milk Nabers)
101.0@135.4
Omar H.
(Follicle Failure)
Pregame · The Booth

The booth has reviewed both rosters and would like to speak to a manager. Either one. Omar H. (0-4) and Zaid (1-3) come in dead even on paper, which is a polite way of saying neither has earned my respect. Omar H. has dropped 4 in a row, a stretch of football so bleak the league office considered a wellness check. Somebody tell the benches to stay warm. They usually outscore the starters around here.

Postgame · The Booth

Follicle Failure handles business, 135.4-101.0. Zaid will tell you it was closer than the score. The score disagrees, and the score was there. Omar H. moves to 1-4. A real analyst would call that momentum. I'll call it a stay of execution. That's 1-4 for Zaid, whose season is now best described as 'a rebuilding year for morale.'
