SEASON 2024

WEEK 12

Week HighAdil161.9
Week LowMustafa87.0
THE WEEKLY REPORT: your weekly reminder that projections are astrology for men.

Adil put 161.9 on Tarick in a 54.2-point mugging that should interest law enforcement. Okashah annihilated Karim by 42.2, a score differential normally reserved for scrimmages against air. Yousef beat Omar H. 139.7-122.2, and the less said about the loser's flex spot, the kinder. Adel got past Mustafa, 104.0-87.0, in a game the tape will file under 'fine, whatever'. Zaid dispatched Ahmad 124.0-112.2 with the ruthless efficiency of a man deleting spam. Omar A. survived Issa by 4.4, and both benches deserve subpoenas over it.

Week's best: Adil with 161.9. Briefly competent. Mark the calendar. And at the bottom, Mustafa posted 87.0. The bye weeks were visible from space and the lineup stayed put.

In transaction news, Zaid and Adil swung a deal (Jameson Williams, Amari Cooper). The booth has graded it and the booth is not kind.

In the season race: Ahmad still leads the league in scoring, while Issa continues auditioning for the punishment.

THIS WEEK IN LEAGUE HISTORY: This week in 2023: Adel handled Mustafa, 147.8-121.6. History remembers the winners. Barely.

This has been the report. Someone check on the losers.

Okashah
(Mohammad's Dolphins Team)
132.0@89.8
Karim
(Hock Tua)
Pregame · The Booth

Two managers enter. One leaves pretending they 'didn't even check their lineup.' On paper this is a coin flip: Hock Tua at 5-6, Mohammad's Dolphins Team at 6-5. On tape, it's two teams praying the other starts the wrong flex. Kickoff's coming. Set your lineups, say your prayers.

Postgame · The Booth

Mohammad's Dolphins Team 132.0, Hock Tua 89.8. In the film room we call that a 'teaching tape.' Karim, you were the lesson. Okashah improves to 7-5. Credit where due, and I do mean the bare minimum of credit. Karim is now 5-7, and the tape suggests that's generous.

Yousef
(Pirated CDs)
139.7@122.2
Omar H.
(The Omar Effect)
Pregame · The Booth

The film doesn't lie, and unfortunately for one of these teams, I've watched it. Yousef rolls in at 8-3 while Omar is dragging a 5-6 record behind them like a busted trailer hitch. The metrics say mismatch. The metrics are being polite. My prediction? Pain. Beautifully quantifiable pain.

Postgame · The Booth

FINAL: Pirated CDs 139.7, The Omar Effect 122.2. Workmanlike win for Yousef. Nothing pretty about it, but neither is this league. Yousef moves to 9-3. A real analyst would call that momentum. I'll call it a stay of execution. Omar drops to 5-7 and is officially in 'blame the projections' territory.

Adil
(Omar✅Yousef✅Oak Next)
161.9@107.7
Tarick
(Shia Killer)
Pregame · The Booth

Grab your popcorn. One of these rosters was built by a genius, the other by a group chat dare. On paper this is a coin flip: Shia Killer at 5-6, Omar✅Yousef✅Oak Next at 5-6. On tape, it's two teams praying the other starts the wrong flex. Omar✅Yousef✅Oak Next has lost 3 straight, which by my math is 3 more consecutive losses than a competently managed franchise should allow. Somebody tell the benches to stay warm. They usually outscore the starters around here.

Postgame · The Booth

Omar✅Yousef✅Oak Next 161.9, Shia Killer 107.7. In the film room we call that a 'teaching tape.' Tarick, you were the lesson. Adil's 161.9 was the top score in the league this week. Enjoy it. Peaks like this are usually followed by cliffs. Adil improves to 6-6. Credit where due, and I do mean the bare minimum of credit. Tarick drops to 5-7 and is officially in 'blame the projections' territory.

Mustafa
(Team Mohammad)
87.0@104.0
Adel(RIP 💀)
(Be my Jaan Robinson)
Pregame · The Booth

Welcome back to the only league where the tape never lies and neither do I. Be my Jaan Robinson (5-6) versus Team Mohammad (5-6). Vegas calls this a pick'em. I call it mutually assured mediocrity. Let's see whose projections were lies.

Postgame · The Booth

104.0-87.0, Be my Jaan Robinson over Team Mohammad. A professional beating. Not a memorable one, just a thorough one. A combined 191.0 points. I've covered scoreless soccer friendlies with more offense. Both lineups should apologize to the sport. Mustafa's 87.0 was the lowest score in the league this week. The LOWEST. Out of twelve teams. I need everyone to sit with that. Adel climbs to 6-6, and for one week, the film room has nothing bad to say. Enjoy the silence. Mustafa is now 5-7, and the tape suggests that's generous.

Issa
(Shamjesus)
122.7@127.1
Omar A.
(Ninjer)
Pregame · The Booth

I've broken down the matchups. One of them broke down right back. The spread on this one is roughly Omar's ego, which is to say: enormous. 6-5 against 4-7 doesn't lie. Shamjesus rides a 3-game heater into this one. Regression is undefeated, but sure, enjoy the moment. Somebody tell the benches to stay warm. They usually outscore the starters around here.

Postgame · The Booth

FINAL: Ninjer survives Shamjesus, 127.1-122.7. A 4.4-point margin. That's not a win, that's a coin flip with better marketing. Omar climbs to 7-5, and for one week, the film room has nothing bad to say. Enjoy the silence. Issa is now 4-8, and the tape suggests that's generous.

Ahmad
(Lucy's Finest)
112.2@124.0
Zaid
(Bidet)
Pregame · The Booth

Welcome back to the only league where the tape never lies and neither do I. Lucy's Finest has been humming along at 8-3. Bidet is sitting at 4-7 and calling it a rebuilding year. In a redraft league. Think about that. Somebody tell the benches to stay warm. They usually outscore the starters around here.

Postgame · The Booth

124.0-112.2, Bidet over Lucy's Finest. A professional beating. Not a memorable one, just a thorough one. And that, friends, is an upset. Zaid came in at 4-7, looked across at Ahmad's 8-3 juggernaut, and simply did not care. Beautiful, chaotic, disrespectful football. Zaid improves to 5-7. Credit where due, and I do mean the bare minimum of credit. Ahmad falls to 8-4. The good news: it can't get worse. The bad news: I said that last week too.
