SEASON 2023

WEEK 14

Week HighKarim133.2
Week LowTarick75.2
THE WEEKLY REPORT: all the carnage, none of the excuses.

Karim put 133.2 on Tarick in a 58.0-point mugging that should interest law enforcement. Issa hung 124.7 on Mustafa and never looked back, winning by 39.1 in the week's designated execution. Yousef beat Zaid 125.0-104.2 and nobody will remember it by Thursday. Omar H. dispatched Adel 132.6-118.4 with the ruthless efficiency of a man deleting spam. Hamed handled Omar A., 112.3-104.8, in a game with all the drama of a scheduled oil change. Adil edged Ahmad by 0.7 in a game decided by pocket change and prayer.

Karim's 133.2 led the league this week, and yes, we all have to hear about it. Tarick brought up the rear with 75.2, a number you can achieve by autodrafting and losing your phone.

Adel lost 2 waiver claims this week, which takes a special commitment to being second.

Big picture: Yousef remains the points leader, and Tarick is pacing the field in the race nobody wants to win.

The tape never lies, gentlemen. See you next week.

Tarick
(Balls Deep)

Karim
(Abu Jabal)
Pregame · The Booth

The scoreboard is warming up and so is my disappointment. Abu Jabal at 6-7 should handle this. Of course, 'should' is the most dangerous word in this league, usually spoken right before Tarick ruins someone's weekend. Let the games begin. Let the group chat suffer.

Postgame · The Booth

FINAL: Abu Jabal 133.2, Balls Deep 75.2. The kind of beating that shows up in next year's power rankings as evidence. 133.2 — tops in the league this week. Karim will mention this at least forty times before Thursday. Tarick scored 75.2, the lowest in the league, a number that will follow him into at least three future write-ups. Starting now. Karim improves to 7-7 and has earned exactly one week of walking slightly taller. Use it wisely. Tarick drops to 3-11, and somewhere his bench players are demanding a trade to the starting lineup.

Omar H.
(Omar’s B*tches)
132.6@118.4
Adel(RIP 💀)
(Be my Jaan Robinson)
Pregame · The Booth

The stakes: pride, standings, and the right to be smug in a group chat. Adel at 6-7 against Omar H. at 6-7. The analytics call it even. The analytics have not met these men. Lineups lock soon. So do fates.

Postgame · The Booth

Omar H. banks the W, 132.6-118.4, and moves on with his life. Adel is advised to attempt the same. 7-7. Omar H. played the odds and, for once, the odds played along. As for Adel: 6-8 now. At some point it stops being bad luck and starts being a body of work.

Hamed(RIP 💀)
(fantasy sucks)
112.3@104.8
Omar A.
(Ninjer)
Pregame · The Booth

Another week, another chance for these two to embarrass their draft boards. Omar A. sits at 5-8, Hamed at 6-7, and the only real separation between them is whose kicker shows up. The booth's official forecast: chaos, with a chance of somebody blaming their kicker.

Postgame · The Booth

Hamed takes it 112.3-104.8. Comfortable enough that nobody panicked, close enough that somebody should have. Hamed climbs to 7-7, and for one week, the film room has nothing bad to say. Enjoy the silence. Omar A. drops to 5-9 and is officially in 'blame the projections' territory.

Yousef
(McCafre)
125.0@104.2
Zaid
(Campaign Papi)
Pregame · The Booth

Somewhere, a bye week goes unnoticed. But not by me. Never by me. Records: 9-4 and 10-3. Identical enough that both fanbases — populations of one — are equally nervous. Zaid has won 3 straight, and has started walking around like they invented zone-read analytics. The tape rolls at kickoff. The excuses roll shortly after.

Postgame · The Booth

McCafre handles business, 125.0-104.2. Zaid will tell you it was closer than the score. The score disagrees, and the score was there. Yousef improves to 11-3. Credit where due, and I do mean the bare minimum of credit. That's 9-5 for Zaid, whose season is now best described as 'a rebuilding year for morale.'

Adil
(Dilmeisters)
128.9@128.2
Ahmad
(Lucy's Finest)
Pregame · The Booth

You wanted analysis. I brought a scalpel. Dilmeisters (9-4) is the clear favorite over Lucy's Finest (4-9), and if you disagree, congratulations, you must be Ahmad. Kickoff's coming. Set your lineups, say your prayers.

Postgame · The Booth

A 0.7-point finish, 128.9 to 128.2. The margin of a missed extra point, a wrong flex, or a cruel and personal universe. That's 10-4 for Adil. Say what you want about the man — the booth certainly will — but the wins are real. Ahmad sits at 4-10 and has begun using the phrase 'points against' unprompted. A cry for help.

Mustafa
(Team Mohammad)
85.6@124.7
Issa
(Shamjesus)
Pregame · The Booth

The film doesn't lie, and unfortunately for one of these teams, I've watched it. Issa brings a 8-5 record. Mustafa brings 6-7 and a dream. The booth has seen the dream's film. The dream should be benched. Losers of 4 straight, Team Mohammad is one more bad Sunday from the booth calling it a lifestyle. One of you is about to be a cautionary tale. The booth thanks you in advance.

Postgame · The Booth

It ends 124.7-85.6. No drama, no controversy, just Mustafa quietly updating his excuses spreadsheet. 9-5 for Issa, who gets to spend a full week believing his own process. Dangerous stuff. Mustafa falls to 6-8. The group chat has been notified. The group chat was already laughing.
