I watched the film twice so you only have to suffer once. The Milkman has been humming along at 3-1. Palestony Soprano is sitting at 0-4 and calling it a rebuilding year. In a redraft league. Think about that. Omar H.'s 3-game streak is real. So is gravity. One of them wins eventually. See you at the final whistle, where one of these paragraphs becomes prophecy.
WEEK 14
Two game plans walk in. Statistically, at least one of them is a coin with feelings. On one side, Omar A. at 2-2. On the other, Tarick at 0-4, armed with optimism and little else. Tarick rides a 4-game skid into this one, and the vibes in that locker room — a phone, in a pocket — are grim. On to the action, where the points are made up and the projections don't matter.
Settle in. The projections say this one's close. The projections have been drinking. Yousef at 2-2 against Adil at 3-1. The analytics call it even. The analytics have not met these men. The clock is the only neutral party here. Enjoy the show.
Every week I say it can't get dumber. Every week this league accepts the challenge. Dead heat on the standings page: I LaPorted the Nabers 3-1, To Infinity and Bijan 3-1. Somebody's about to learn which .500 team was lying. Whatever happens, remember: the booth predicted it, retroactively, with confidence.
Welcome back to the only league where the tape never lies and neither do I. Two teams, 2-2 and 1-3, separated by nothing but vibes and pending regret. Okashah has dropped 3 in a row, a stretch of football so bleak the league office considered a wellness check. Let the games begin. Let the group chat suffer.
Good evening from the booth, where hope comes to be audited. Mustafa sits at 3-1, Issa at 2-2, and the only real separation between them is whose kicker shows up. Lineups lock soon. So do fates.
