SEASON 2023

WEEK 9

Week HighMustafa154.7
Week LowAhmad69.8
THE WEEKLY REPORT: all the carnage, none of the excuses.

Yousef put 119.0 on Ahmad in a 49.2-point mugging that should interest law enforcement. Zaid hung 117.9 on Hamed and never looked back, winning by 36.1 in the week's designated execution. Adel beat Tarick 95.5-73.7 and nobody will remember it by Thursday. Mustafa handled Karim, 154.7-135.8, in a game with all the drama of a scheduled oil change. Omar A. got past Omar H., 106.0-89.0, in a game the tape will file under 'fine, whatever'. Adil survived Issa by 0.5, and both benches deserve subpoenas over it.

Week's best: Mustafa with 154.7. Briefly competent. Mark the calendar. Week's worst: Ahmad with 69.8. Twelve managers, and one of them scored THAT.

Big picture: Yousef remains the points leader, and Tarick is pacing the field in the race nobody wants to win.

This has been the report. Someone check on the losers.

Karim
(Abu Jabal)
135.8@154.7
Mustafa
(Team Mohammad)
Pregame · The Booth

Grab your popcorn. One of these rosters was built by a genius, the other by a group chat dare. On paper this is a coin flip: Team Mohammad at 5-3, Abu Jabal at 4-4. On tape, it's two teams praying the other starts the wrong flex. Mustafa has won 3 straight, and has started walking around like they invented zone-read analytics. Sunday will sort this out the way it sorts everything: rudely.

Postgame · The Booth

FINAL: 154.7 to 135.8. Mustafa did what good teams do; Karim did what Karim does. Combined 290.5. If you blinked, you missed forty points and at least one act of villainy. 154.7 — tops in the league this week. Mustafa will mention this at least forty times before Thursday. That's 6-3 for Mustafa. Say what you want about the man — the booth certainly will — but the wins are real. Karim is now 4-5, and the tape suggests that's generous.

Adil
(Dilmeisters)
98.6@98.1
Issa
(Shamjesus)
Pregame · The Booth

Two game plans walk in. Statistically, at least one of them is a coin with feelings. Issa sits at 6-2, Adil at 6-2, and the only real separation between them is whose kicker shows up. Winners of 4 straight, Shamjesus enters with the swagger of a team that hasn't checked how it happened. Buckle up. The projections have chosen violence.

Postgame · The Booth

98.6-98.1, final. The difference was 0.5 points and whatever Issa did to anger the football gods this week. Adil improves to 7-2 and has earned exactly one week of walking slightly taller. Use it wisely. Issa falls to 6-3. The group chat has been notified. The group chat was already laughing.

Yousef
(McCafre)
119.0@69.8
Ahmad
(Lucy's Finest)
Pregame · The Booth

I watched the film twice so you only have to suffer once. McCafre has been humming along at 6-2. Lucy's Finest is sitting at 2-6 and calling it a rebuilding year. In a redraft league. Think about that. Yousef is on a 3-game run and has begun using the word 'dynasty' in casual conversation. The booth is monitoring the situation. Somebody tell the benches to stay warm. They usually outscore the starters around here.

Postgame · The Booth

Yousef put 119.0 on the board; Ahmad responded with 69.8 and, presumably, a formal apology to his roster. The two teams combined for 188.8, a number so small it qualifies for legal protection. 69.8 — the worst score anyone managed this week. Ahmad is asked to report to the film room and to bring a helmet. Yousef climbs to 7-2, and for one week, the film room has nothing bad to say. Enjoy the silence. As for Ahmad: 2-7 now. At some point it stops being bad luck and starts being a body of work.

Hamed(RIP 💀)
(fantasy sucks)
81.8@117.9
Zaid
(Campaign Papi)
Pregame · The Booth

You wanted analysis. I brought a scalpel. Dead heat on the standings page: Campaign Papi 5-3, fantasy sucks 4-4. Somebody's about to learn which .500 team was lying. Hamed has dropped 3 in a row, a stretch of football so bleak the league office considered a wellness check. Kickoff's coming. Set your lineups, say your prayers.

Postgame · The Booth

117.9-81.8. The kind of result you forget by Thursday unless you're Hamed, in which case it lingers. Zaid is 6-3 now. The booth has updated his file from 'concerning' to 'under review.' Hamed drops to 4-5 and is officially in 'blame the projections' territory.

Omar H.
(Omar’s B*tches)
89.0@106.0
Omar A.
(Ninjer)
Pregame · The Booth

The booth has reviewed both rosters and would like to speak to a manager. Either one. Omar A. (3-5) and Omar H. (4-4) come in dead even on paper, which is a polite way of saying neither has earned my respect. Omar A. has lost 3 in a row and started describing it as 'a process.' The process is losing. The clock is the only neutral party here. Enjoy the show.

Postgame · The Booth

It ends 106.0-89.0. No drama, no controversy, just Omar H. quietly updating his excuses spreadsheet. A combined 195.0 points. I've covered scoreless soccer friendlies with more offense. Both lineups should apologize to the sport. Omar A. improves to 4-5. Credit where due, and I do mean the bare minimum of credit. 4-5 for Omar H.. Every loss has a lesson; this one's lesson was 'stop doing that.'

Tarick
(Balls Deep)
73.7@95.5
Adel(RIP 💀)
(Be my Jaan Robinson)
Pregame · The Booth

Ladies and gentlemen, a football game. Allegedly. Adel at 2-6 against Tarick at 1-7. The analytics call it even. The analytics have not met these men. Balls Deep has lost 5 straight, which by my math is 5 more consecutive losses than a competently managed franchise should allow. Whatever happens, remember: the booth predicted it, retroactively, with confidence.

Postgame · The Booth

Adel banks the W, 95.5-73.7, and moves on with his life. Tarick is advised to attempt the same. A rock fight: 169.2 total. Somewhere, both benches outscored both starting lineups, and nobody wants to talk about it. Adel moves to 3-6. A real analyst would call that momentum. I'll call it a stay of execution. That's 1-8 for Tarick, whose season is now best described as 'a rebuilding year for morale.'
