SEASON 2024

WEEK 4

Week HighAdil171.4
Week LowAdel77.2
THE WEEKLY REPORT: all the carnage, none of the excuses.

Adil put 171.4 on Mustafa in a 57.5-point mugging that should interest law enforcement. Omar H. annihilated Zaid by 37.2, a score differential normally reserved for scrimmages against air. Karim dispatched Adel 95.5-77.2 with the ruthless efficiency of a man deleting spam. Yousef beat Issa 96.3-87.6, and the less said about the loser's flex spot, the kinder. Ahmad edged Okashah by 5.2 in a game decided by pocket change and prayer. Tarick escaped Omar A. by 0.4 points, the fantasy equivalent of a field goal as time expires.

Adil dropped a league-best 171.4, which buys exactly one week of trash talk credit. Week's worst: Adel with 77.2. Twelve managers, and one of them scored THAT.

Trade wire: Zaid shipped out and Adil bought in (Chuba Hubbard, Tee Higgins, Mike Evans, Braelon Allen). One of them will regret this by December.

Big picture: Adil remains the points leader, and Zaid is pacing the field in the race nobody wants to win.

THIS WEEK IN LEAGUE HISTORY: In 2023, Yousef dropped 224.8 on Issa in this same week — a public execution the league still references.

That's the report. Complaints can be filed directly into the group chat where they belong.

I've broken down the matchups. One of them broke down right back. Dead heat on the standings page: Hock Tua 1-2, Be my Jaan Robinson 2-1. Somebody's about to learn which .500 team was lying. Let's see whose projections were lies.

Postgame · The Booth

95.5-77.2, Hock Tua over Be my Jaan Robinson. A professional beating. Not a memorable one, just a thorough one. 172.7 total points between them. The real loser here was every single person who watched. Be my Jaan Robinson posted 77.2, the league's worst mark of the week. Frame it. Study it. Never speak of it again. Karim is 2-2 now. The booth has updated his file from 'concerning' to 'under review.' Adel is now 2-2, and the tape suggests that's generous.

Tarick
(Shia Killer)
109.9@109.5
Omar A.
(Ninjer)
Pregame · The Booth

Good evening from the booth, where hope comes to be audited. Records: 1-2 and 2-1. Identical enough that both fanbases — populations of one — are equally nervous. Kickoff's coming. Set your lineups, say your prayers.

Postgame · The Booth

A 0.4-point finish, 109.9 to 109.5. The margin of a missed extra point, a wrong flex, or a cruel and personal universe. Tarick banks it and sits at 3-1. Somewhere a projection model feels validated. Briefly. Omar A. slides to 1-3. The schedule ahead offers no apologies and neither does the booth.

Omar H.
(The Omar Effect)
148.7@111.5
Zaid
(Bidet)
Pregame · The Booth

Ladies and gentlemen, a football game. Allegedly. Bidet (0-3) versus The Omar Effect (0-3). Vegas calls this a pick'em. I call it mutually assured mediocrity. Losers of 3 straight, Bidet is one more bad Sunday from the booth calling it a lifestyle. Let the games begin. Let the group chat suffer.

Postgame · The Booth

FINAL: 148.7-111.5. Omar H. was better. Not by a story, just by a score. Omar H. improves to 1-3 and has earned exactly one week of walking slightly taller. Use it wisely. That's 0-4 for Zaid, whose season is now best described as 'a rebuilding year for morale.'

Okashah
(Mohammad's Dolphins Team)
135.3@140.5
Ahmad
(Lucy's Finest)
Pregame · The Booth

Strap in, folks. Somebody's week is about to be ruined, and I get paid to watch. Ahmad (2-1) and Okashah (2-1) come in dead even on paper, which is a polite way of saying neither has earned my respect. See you at the final whistle, where one of these paragraphs becomes prophecy.

Postgame · The Booth

By 5.2 points, Ahmad takes it, 140.5-135.3. Games this close are decided by benches, kickers, and the gods, and none of them like Okashah. That's 3-1 for Ahmad. Say what you want about the man — the booth certainly will — but the wins are real. Okashah sits at 2-2 and has begun using the phrase 'points against' unprompted. A cry for help.

Yousef
(Pirated CDs)
96.3@87.6
Issa
(Shamjesus)
Pregame · The Booth

The scoreboard is warming up and so is my disappointment. Yousef brings a 2-1 record. Issa brings 0-3 and a dream. The booth has seen the dream's film. The dream should be benched. Issa rides a 3-game skid into this one, and the vibes in that locker room — a phone, in a pocket — are grim. The tape rolls at kickoff. The excuses roll shortly after.

Postgame · The Booth

FINAL: 96.3 to 87.6. Yousef did what good teams do; Issa did what Issa does. 183.9 combined points. The booth checked twice, then checked its will to live. Yousef improves to 3-1. Credit where due, and I do mean the bare minimum of credit. 0-4 for Issa. Every loss has a lesson; this one's lesson was 'stop doing that.'

Adil
(Omar✅Yousef✅Oak Next)
171.4@113.9
Mustafa
(Team Mohammad)
Pregame · The Booth

The stakes: pride, standings, and the right to be smug in a group chat. Mustafa sits at 3-0, Adil at 3-0, and the only real separation between them is whose kicker shows up. Winners of 3 straight, Team Mohammad enters with the swagger of a team that hasn't checked how it happened. Lineups lock soon. So do fates.

Postgame · The Booth

Adil put 171.4 on the board; Mustafa responded with 113.9 and, presumably, a formal apology to his roster. That 171.4 from Omar✅Yousef✅Oak Next led the entire league this week. Even I have to tip the cap. Briefly. It's back on now. Adil climbs to 4-0, and for one week, the film room has nothing bad to say. Enjoy the silence. As for Mustafa: 3-1 now. At some point it stops being bad luck and starts being a body of work.
